Wife, mom of 3 , plus a fur baby and a kick ass wedding planner! Lover of a GREAT craft cocktail, an even better conversation and can talk for HOURS about the best housewives franchise (it's ATL, duh)
Let’s talk logistics! You are 3 months away from walking down the aisle and you are receiving emails from every vendor asking for a wedding day of timeline! Wait, what? Yes, a wedding day timeline! You’ve dreamt up every visual detail, but weddings are part pretty and part logistical. Producing an event of this caliber takes structure, organization and paperwork. The art of building a wedding day timeline takes experience, so gather your notebook and favorite cocktail and pull up for some tips!
3 Things to remember:
Plan backwards- from the end to the beginning! You have a hard stop with the venue and when the clock strikes 12, the lights come on! Starting from the end allows you to see the full scope of time in a real way. When crafting this fusion wedding timeline, its important that you highlight the area of the day, that is most important to you as a couple!
Line up those contracts! Take a look at how many hours you have contracted your photographer, videographer, DJ and caterer for. The details here will dictate when you ask these vendors to arrive and begin their creative work for the day. If you need to add additional time, your vendors would appreciate the heads up before the wedding day!
Be prepared to start hair and makeup earlier than you think! Hair and makeup are typically assigned an hour each for bridesmaids and 90 minutes each for the bride. These services are done at the top of the day and take a bulk of the wedding day timeline.
Well that’s it! If you are in the throes of planning and need help creating a fusion wedding timeline let us know! We’d love to chat and strategize how to make your timeline WORK!
