Congratulations once again on your recent engagement, we see you shinning! But the BIG question is now what are the average wedding cost in Connecticut.
Now that things have settled, you find yourself daydreaming (aka Pinterest posting and IG hashtagging) about the fabulous, romantic, and lit wedding that you are going to have. Yes, whatever new challenge is on IG, you and your fiance will SLAY and everyone in attendance will rock the night away on the dance floor and at that open bar.
As you scour the websites and take all of the venue tours that you can stomach in one weekend, you begin to absorb the sticker shock of it all. The per plate costs, the tax and do not forget that standard gratuity! Let me let you in on a little secret: yes, that is exactly what the average guest costs in Connecticut to put on this production…and the venue is only the beginning.
Now do not let the price and all of the ++’s (average gratuity and CT Sales tax) added to the end of every sentence scare you. Yes, this wedding is going to cost you real dollars and yes, it will be worth the investment- IF, planned properly in adherence to your personal budget and following the guidance of your experienced wedding planner!
So for example’s sake, let’s use break down venue projections. Typical catering/event space cost should be the biggest chunk of your budget. The average cost of a wedding in the Tri-state area (CT, NYC, and NJ) is $60,000, and that is an AVERAGE wedding cost in Connecticut! Your venue is going to be 35%-45% of your budget, which means you are going to spend $21k-$24k on accommodating your guest. Ensuring that this chunk of money is allocated correctly, is crucial in your mission of balancing the budget with the beautiful. You will want to give a full assessment of your venue choices- Do they fit your vision, style, and food & beverage requirements. If you do not know and need assistance on how to allocate your funds, you should stop and immediately hire a wedding planner.
So, that’s the first slice of the pie! Come back next week and will talk guest count! Contact Us
